Scooter Lust

My good friend Aaron added a term to my vocabulary a few years back when we first started hanging out, and were sitting around talking about cool music gear and various other gadgets. I believe we were talking about computers or something and he mentioned that he was suffering from a bad case of "gear lust." I remember laughing and thinking, "Where has this term been? It's perfect!"

Enabled by a job at Guitar Center while attending jr. college, my gear lust went unchecked and - as I lived with my folks at the time - the majority of each paycheck went toward adding another piece of hardware or software to my rig.
Unfortunately, I've developed another strain of gear lust. Scooter lust. I married into a car, but I work at home so Wifey has it most of the time, and on top of that, I don't know how to drive a stickshift. Yeah, I know, I'm not a full man as a result, but I can live with that. Also, for what I would need transportation, a second car would be incredibly impractical, especially with rising gas prices. Like any other instance of gear lust, this was initiated by exposure to someone else's toys. Coming full circle, my scooter lust was initiated by seeing Aaron's Honda Ruckus. *Jealousy*
I want a moped so bad. They are so fun and a crappy one gets like 70 miles to the gallon! I'm now accepting donations via check, cash or PayPal to the "Jake Hawken Needs a Moped" Fund.
