Is this really going on in the same hemisphere as me? I'm not even talking about politics. I'm talking about some weird crap, man. It's called LARP-ing, which stands for, get this, Live Action Role Playing. So basically, these are fully grown adults, acting out World of Warcraft and D&D in their nearest state forest. I first saw this video a year or two ago, and thought it was an isolated event. I've since learned that this is huge in nerd sub-sub-culture.
So, apparently they have LARP summer camps. Can you imagine hating your child enough to seal their fate as a self-imposed societal outcast? Things to look out for in this video: the bewildered child around 4:05 who stands there not knowing what to do and ends up stomping on the dragon's hand, and the moment when the dragon goes "Owww! Stop that!"
Apparently it's also big in Italy. I'm not sure what that lady is shouting, but I'm sure it has something to do with a +5 fire spell wizard magic paladin sword, or some sh** like that. I mean, you can tell that these freaks take themselves seriously. You don't hike in the cold in the middle of the woods to stand there and hit one another with foam clubs unless you take some element of what you're doing seriously.
And finally, the coup de grace:
A LARPing documentary! Sure, that'll garner you some credibility as a creepy subculture: show everyone the many hundreds of layers to your creepiness. Does anyone else find this as disturbing as I do? I mean, in this day and age, maybe I shouldn't me shocked by anything anymore, but I find it so hard to believe that this is real. God help us all.

This is great and all, but my favorite part is the ad for window shutters on the sidebar. How did they come up with that??
Now it's actually an ad for "The West's Premier Lobbying & Public Affairs Firm."
I kid you not....playing these videos actually made my internet crash. Even the 'net doesn't like what these freaks are doing.
